Neighborhood Permaculture
No family is an “island”. We are so grateful for our wonderful neighbors. They are patient with our noisy animals, supply messes, and frequent yard sales. We hope we are able to make it up to them by providing fresh eggs, a place to recycle yard waste, and an occasional lawn mowing/fertilization via the goats.
~Adoptions
We work with the local SPCA as well as many private families and have adopted many animals into their forever home here on the farm.
~Christmas Tree Recycling
The day we have to take down the Christmas Tree is always a sad one! Hopefully we soften the blow a little with the knowledge that they will be enjoyed all the way down to their woody skeletons. Evergreens are the goat’s FAVORITE treat.
~Local Goat Rentals
Our goats absolutely love to eat! They will eat brush, shrubs, vines (poison ivy included!), tree bark, grass, and ground covers. If it’s green (or brown) they’ll eat it. They have successfully transformed our own back property from a tangled mess to an open wooded paddock. They mow our lawns and fertilize as they go. Their manure is one of the most magnificent fertilizers. As goats are ruminants, their three stomachs thoroughly break down their purely vegetarian diet into perfectly pelletized plant food.
